The Data Science for Social Justice Week at Howard University provides a platform for scholars from diverse disciplines to showcase interdisciplinary, innovative, and impactful research in data science, spanning academia, industry, and government sectors. This year's events will feature a Digital Discussion focusing on the development of an Anti-Racist AI framework, student poster presentations emphasizing Data Justice, and the 2nd Annual Mastercard-sponsored Inclusive Growth and Racial Equity Thought Leadership Lecture Series. Additionally, our MS in Data Science Open House will offer insights into our program's offerings and opportunities.

On Thursday, February 22 we invite the entire data science community to join for the inaugural Inclusive Growth and Racial Equity Thought Leadership Lecture Series sponsored by Mastercard. Speakers include Anthony K. Wutoh, Ph.D., R.Ph., and Safiya Umoja Noble, Ph.D.,  David O. Sears Presidential Endowed Chair of Social Sciences and Professor of Gender Studies and African American Studies, Faculty Director for the Center on Race & Digital Justice and Co-Director for the Minderoo Initiative on Tech & Power at the UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry

Day 4: Data Science Open House

Friday February 24, we invite all interested applicants to a Virtual Open House.

The Howard University MS in Applied Data Science and Analytics program will prepare students for successful careers in a burgeoning and prospering field. With a unique emphasis on Social Justice and the growing importance of understanding data across academic disciplines, this three-semester long program provides students with traditional data science opportunities while also offering specializations in the areas of Minority Health & Health Disparities, Environmental Justice, and Economic Empowerment.
