Become a Champion of Interprofessional Education 

IPEC Committee members are dedicated volunteer faculty from diverse disciplines who share a passion for collaborative education and are committed to advancing our mission and vision. As a committee member, you'll join a dynamic group of educators working to transform healthcare education at Howard University. 

What We're Looking For 

We seek faculty members who are: 

  • Passionate about interprofessional collaboration
  • Committed to breaking down educational silos
  • Interested in innovative educational approaches
  • Dedicated to serving underserved communities 

Member Responsibilities 

  • Attend bi-monthly virtual meetings to collaborate on strategic initiatives
  • Represent your school/college in activity scheduling, recruitment, and outreach efforts
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in developing innovative interprofessional activities
  • Participate in planning and executing our signature annual IPE workshop
  • Provide quarterly and annual reports to your respective dean(s) on IPE initiatives and outcomes 

Time Commitment 

Committee members invest approximately 50 hours throughout the academic year (September to May), with flexibility based on assigned activities and personal availability: 

  • Meeting Attendance: ~20 hours
  • Activity Development & Execution: ~30 hours
